I just saw a couple of sales that went for below market value , so it’s not consistent.

If you follow These, they typically go for ~60k. That’s a BaT discount. I’ll try to keep these reached better, but I’ve seen quite a few steals.

Yeah, thats kinda reasonable for those. Although with 71k miles I would have expected them to go below $40lk.

I’m gonna say yes, the automatic equipped wagon is fetching high 40s. That manual transmission really jacks t he price up.

Its such a nice box too. I’ve driven a C5z, C6 and a 94 Viper with the gearbox. Really direct and satisfying shift.

It’s cheap because it’s fucked. 71k is massive miles for these and you are looking at MAJOR repairs in your very near future. Especially since it was badly modified (go look at the service records.) Oh, and because it’s a ‘12 and has the accordant GM kwality, the interior’s falling apart worse than in the photos. Guaranteed.

I just post up cars from BaT that I think are pretty or have very nice photographs taken.
I mean the same could be said for every Alfa, Lancia or early lotus I post up.

I’m just saying CTS-V wagons only go that cheap when they’re broke, regardless of source. Gimme a while and I could probably find one that cheap - or cheaper - at some used lot.

As the seller noted, high mileage ones don’t command the premium that low mile examples do. With that said, this price is a steal IMHO.
I don’t know what you’re getting at with the mods being crap. Or the fact that it has had factory service bulletin items replaced. It honestly doesn’t seem bad. The good thing about higher mileage cars is that most of these issues have been addressed. Similar to why more than a few people say when looking at McLarens or Astons to go for one with full records and mileage on the higher end of the scale. Somebody has already had to deal with most of the issues (provided they aren't recurring).

Check the service records more closely. There were two points where the technicians performed very thorough testing and determined that modifications to the engine by the owner were causing undesirable or problematic behaviors. Overpressure of the manifold as I recall (yeah yeah get the memes outta yer system now guys) was one of them. That can result in significant excess wear and tear of the internals, if not outright damage. Remember, the CTS-V’s supercharged.
TSB stuff is perfectly normal. I did TSB stuff when I was wrenching. I did a lot of TSB stuff. (I even generated two NVH TSBs.) The problem here is the non-TSB stuff. The LSA is, at the end of the day, a Gen V SBC. Service records are nice, but as long as it got it’s oil changes, it’s still the old pushrod V8 since forever. Good records here merely document a lifetime of being driven hard and put away wet.
It’s not necessarily a bad car for the money and I’m not saying that, but it is definitely a car that is going to require feeding from your wallet in the foreseeable future.

I don’t think that was overpressuring o f the manifold. I’m not even sure how a cold air intake would do that unless a bypass actuator failed. Honestly, I think that is the same crap when people out stickier tires on their car and then complain about rocks getting picked up and the resulting noise. Or when try get a more attentive alignment, zero the tire etc. And then say the car is too darty on the freeway. Everybody is an engineer/race car driver until you actually have to make the sausage.
